The roads
Six stages through the Huon Valley and D'Entrecasteaux Channel south of Hobart. These are some of Tasmania's finest and most underdriven roads - orchard country, rainforest approaches and a dramatic coastal shelf road.
The event
Targa Wrest Point ran from 2009 to 2022 as a two-day Huon Valley event, born from the southern legs of Targa Tasmania. Named after the Wrest Point casino in Hobart, it used roads that rarely appeared in the main event. The 2022 edition was its last before a Motorsport Australia safety review suspended all Australian tarmac rallies. No confirmed return date has been announced.
6 stages

SS 1 - Geeveston
27 km7.3The opening stage of Targa Wrest Point. 27 kilometres down the Huon Valley from Huonville to the timber town of Geeveston following the Huon River. Fast, flowing, and a strong introduction to southern Tasmanian driving.

SS 2 - Tahune Airwalk
38 km8.5The best stage in the Wrest Point collection. 22 kilometres through forest country to the Tahune Airwalk canopy walk over the Huon River. The road narrows and the forest deepens as distance from Geeveston increases.

SS 3 - Dover / Police Point
17 km8.5A channel-country stage in the far south. Ridges and valleys above the D'Entrecasteaux Channel alternating with faster valley descents. Dover is the last sizeable town on the Channel Highway heading south.

SS 4 - Woodbridge
19 km7.8A channel-country stage connecting the old ferry town of Woodbridge to Margate along the D'Entrecasteaux Channel foreshore. Slightly uphill and fairly open throughout.

SS 5 - Oyster Cove
12 km5.8The channel-country road south of Margate to Oyster Cove. The same road as the Tasmania Tarmac stage, tracked independently in the Wrest Point collection.

SS 6 - Lucaston
3 km5.2A 3-kilometre hilltop sprint through apple orchard country above the Huon Valley. Short and tight, it opens the Targa Wrest Point collection and gets everyone back in rhythm.
