The roads
Five stages through the Perth Hills and Wheatbelt - from tight forest climbs above the city to fast valley roads reaching into the wheat country north. Accessible, technical and completely different from the karri forests of the South West.
The event
The Perth Hills tarmac events have run under several names - Targa West (2005-2021) and Tarmac West (2023-present) - making this one of Australia's longest-running tarmac rally venues. The event uses public sealed roads in the Darling Range and Wheatbelt, within an hour of the Perth CBD. Stages range from tight hillclimbs above Kalamunda to fast open roads near Toodyay.
