The roads
Seven stages through the karri forests of Western Australia's South West, from Pemberton to the coast. The roads made famous by Targa South West are lined with some of the tallest trees in the country and offer a completely different texture to anything else on the Australian tarmac circuit.
The event
Targa South West takes competitors through the tall timber country of WA's South West, routing through and around the karri and jarrah forests near Pemberton. The stages are distinctive for their forest canopy, dappled light and the long straight sections interrupted by sudden tight bends as the road navigates timber country terrain.
