The road
The Beedelup stage runs 17 kilometres west from Pemberton along the Vasse Highway to the Beedelup Falls turnoff and into Beedelup National Park. The route follows the highway through some of the densest karri forest in the region, with the trees closing in overhead as the road winds through the forest. This is a scenic driving route rather than a rally stage - the Targa South West event does not use this section of road. But the Vasse Highway through here is one of the best forest drives in the South West, and Beedelup Falls at the end drops over a granite ledge into a karri forest pool that makes the destination worth the drive. Beedelup National Park protects an intact section of karri forest west of Pemberton. The Karri Valley Resort sits on Beedelup Lake nearby, and the walk-through karri tree is a short detour from the falls carpark.
