The road

Pump Hill is one of the genuine Targa South West rally stages - a hillclimb in the traditional sense. 3.18 kilometres of sealed road rising steeply from the Pemberton Sports Club through karri and marri woodland. The stage is run twice during the event and serves as a timing benchmark for crews. The Pemberton Sports Club at 1 Club Road is the event hub for Tarmac South West. The Pump Hill stage starts from the club, making it the most accessible and spectator-friendly stage in the collection. The gradient is consistent enough to keep the speed in check and the corners tight enough to prevent it from becoming a pure power test. This is one of the shortest stages in the WA collection but one of the most authentic - a real rally stage on a real rally road.
