7-day forecast
Sustained sealed climb through the D'Aguilar Range with good corner frequency and rainforest canopy for most of the route. Sports car handles this well. Motorbike equally rewarding. The surface is reliable year-round though sections stay damp from canopy moisture.

The road
Mount Nebo Road is the companion climb to Mount Glorious in the D'Aguilar Range - the same range, a different approach, equally rewarding. The 35-kilometre sealed road from The Gap on Brisbane's western edge climbs to 670 metres through subtropical rainforest and eucalypt forest, reaching the village of Mount Nebo on the ridge. The road gains its elevation progressively rather than in a sudden escarpment climb, which gives it a different rhythm to the Glorious road - longer sequences of linked corners rather than individual technical challenges. The D'Aguilar National Park provides a genuine wilderness feel 30 kilometres from Brisbane's CBD. Mount Nebo village has a small cafe and the continuation north along the ridge connects to Mount Glorious. On clear days, lookouts along the ridge give views back over the Samford Valley and east to Moreton Bay. The road is a popular weekend escape for Brisbane drivers but weekday mornings are genuinely quiet.

Why this road

The region
Mount Nebo Road climbs the D'Aguilar Range from The Gap on Brisbane's western edge, reaching 670 metres at Mount Nebo village. The range is part of D'Aguilar National Park - subtropical rainforest and eucalypt forest that creates a genuine wilderness feel 30 km from Brisbane's CBD. Mount Nebo and Mount Glorious villages sit on the ridge and have small cafes.

Before you go
Fuel in The Gap before the climb. Road is sealed throughout and open year-round. The canopy keeps sections damp year-round - allow for reduced grip. Moderate traffic on weekends as it is a popular Brisbane escape. A few lookouts give views back over the Samford Valley and Moreton Bay on clear days.
